Hiba Tahir is responsible for the contemporary young adult novel DEAR NUMBER 43, for which she is currently seeking representation.
A former editorial intern at Tin House, Hiba currently serves as Social Media Director for Open Mouth Literary Center, a community-based literary center and reading series based in Fayetteville, Arkansas; as Social Media Editor for The Arkansas International, the University of Arkansas MFA’s award-winning literary magazine; and as editor of the Honors College at the University of Arkansas, a graduate assistantship.
A former award-winning humor columnist, Hiba graduated in 2018 with a summa cum laude B.A. in English and news-editorial journalism from the University of Southern Mississippi. She will graduate with an MFA in poetry in 2022 from the University of Arkansas, where she received the Carolyn Walton Cole Endowment Fund in Creative Writing and the J. Chester and Freda S. Johnson Graduate Fellowship. She is a 2020 recipient of an Artists 360 grant from the Mid-America Arts Alliance.
In addition to writing, Hiba enjoys photography, traveling, arguing with her domestic shorthair, wallowing in her Kafkaesque existence, and mozzarella sticks.
